Claudia and Marin Yum Win the Poker Money Award in Korea

Earlier this week, Claudia and Marin Yum received the 피망포커머니상 in Korea. They are the very first Korean winners of the prestigious tournament. They beat out several international players to win it. The other winners included Scott Janik and Harunobu Kojima.

Earlier this season, Scott Janik won the Poker Money Award in Korea. While his final table didn’t include exactly the same stars as those of the WSOP, he was among the only Americans to take part in the Main Event. He wound up taking home 215,800. This was enough to complete in second place. He’ll return tomorrow to try to take home the title.

He’d to fight against Yuki Ko, who began the day with 2,820,000 chips. He eliminated Xingbiao Zhu and Masatoshi Tanaka. Ko has over $272,261 in live tournament earnings, and happens to be leading the way in the Main Event with a 2,820,000 chip lead. He’s also won two bracelets, so he’s anticipated to be at the the top of list for the Poker Money Award in Korea.

Jwahyoung Kim

PGA Tour player Joohyung Kim is just a 20-year-old South Korean golfer who won the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, NC. His victory earned him a PGA Tour card for the next season. He tied for second-lowest nine-hole score on the tour. He finished the tournament at 20 under.

His win makes him the very first player born in the 2000s to win an PGA Tour event. He is also the next youngest winner on the Asian Tour. Kim tied for 47th at the Open Championship. He finished the summer season with 917 points. He’ll now play in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

He also won the PGM ADT Championship in Malaysia in June. He tied for ninth in the Asian Tour in 2018. Kim earned his PGA Tour card for next season, and is eligible to play in the Open Championship in 2020.
